Pre-Installation Checklist

Before installing your YOKE AVR, verify you have: Correct AVR model for your voltage system (110V or 220V input). Adequate space with proper ventilation (minimum 30cm clearance on all sides). Properly sized circuit breaker or fuse in the main panel. Required wire gauge for the current capacity (refer to local electrical codes). Basic tools: multimeter, screwdriver set, wire strippers, electrical tape. For units over 10KVA, consider hiring a licensed electrician.

Selecting Installation Location

Choose the right location for optimal AVR performance: Indoor use only in clean, dry environments. Avoid: Direct sunlight, rain, humidity above 85%, temperatures above 40°C, dusty or corrosive atmospheres. Place on a stable, level surface that can support the weight. For wall-mounted units, use appropriate wall anchors rated for the weight. Position near the equipment being protected for shorter cable runs. Ensure easy access for maintenance and monitoring.

Proper Wiring Connection

Follow these wiring guidelines for safe installation: Turn OFF main power before starting any wiring work. Connect the input (LINE/IN) terminals to the power source. Connect the output (LOAD/OUT) terminals to your protected equipment. Ensure correct polarity: Live/Hot to L, Neutral to N, Ground to PE/G. Use appropriately sized wire: For 10KVA units, use minimum 6mm² wire. For 30KVA+ units, use minimum 16mm² wire. All connections must be tight to prevent heating. Install a dedicated circuit breaker between the power source and AVR.

Grounding Requirements

Proper grounding is critical for safety and performance: The grounding conductor must be the same size or larger than the hot/live conductor. Ground resistance should be 5 ohms or less. For units over 10KVA, a dedicated ground rod may be required. Test ground connection with a multimeter before connecting equipment. Never bypass the ground connection. YOKE AVRs include a dedicated grounding terminal clearly marked PE or with the ground symbol.

First-Time Operation

Follow these steps for first-time startup: Verify all connections are tight and correct. Remove any tools or materials from the work area. Turn ON the main power to the AVR. Wait 10-15 seconds for the unit to initialize. Check the display (if equipped) shows normal input voltage. Observe the output voltage reading matches expected value (±5V of target). Allow the AVR to run for 30 minutes with no load to verify stable operation. Gradually add your equipment load, monitoring for any abnormalities. YOKE SVC units have LED indicators: Green = Normal, Yellow = Adjusting, Red = Fault.
